The scientific-technological and educational center of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was created on the basis of the reorganized “Engineering Center” of the KhDPU in 2001.
The main objective of the Center are:
- Carrying out scientific research, design, research and development and organizing the implementation of the results of these works in the production of industry in the regions of Ukraine and abroad;
- Development and organization of the implementation of new technologies, «know-how» inventions, production preparation, development and transfer of technologies and scientific and technological documentation at the customer’s enterprises and organizations;
- Provision of additional practical services to the customer related to the introduction of developments into production, as well as joint work on their implementation;
- Provision of industrial training for students of the university and other educational institutions with the aim of obtaining professional, scientific practical skills in the chosen profession, as well as obtaining working professions in accordance with the educational programs;
- Organization and provision of laboratory work, as well as strengthening of the educational and laboratory base;
- Solutions to issues related to increasing production efficiency and resource and energy conservation, as well as issues to improve environmental safety;
- Public contract work for the provision of services to enterprises, organizations and institutions.
From 2019 to the present, more than 15 million hryvnias worth of scientific and research work has been carried out in the scientific-technological and educational center of National Technical University «KhPI».
Currently, on the basis of the scientific-technological and educational center of NTU «KhPI» scientific research works are being carried out in the following areas:
- Improving the efficiency of utilization and recycling of polymer waste;
- Prospects for the use of secondary raw materials in polymer compositions for modern building materials;
- development and implementation of ecological technologies for the use of elastomeric regenerated butyl rubber and pyrocoke waste from the pyrolysis of automobile tires in the production of polymer and rubber technical compositions and products that create a large technogenic burden on the environment;
- Improvement of the technological features of the assembly of non-standard structures with the use of bent and complex profile elements;
Currently, a «Start-Up» is being implemented on the basis of the scientific-technological and educational center of NTU «KhPI» for the development of the production of luminescent paving slabs.
